Thank you for taking a
moment to learn more about the story behind how Dornlea
got started and where it is now.
Back in 1986 Karen
Churchill and Sandy Dornes partnered together to form a
hobby kennel specializing in Boxers. This kennel was
formed with the goal to better the breed and to produce
the highest quality boxer for show. Karen Churchill ran
the kennel independently after Sandy passed away, up
until about two years ago when she begun the process of
passing the kennel and it's well-known name to myself,
Jaque Bennett and my family. We are close and personal
friends of Karen's.
My family and I have
continued the same traditions and goals as originally
set in place when Dornlea began. Our small hobby kennel
is located in the Tri Cities, Washington.
Keeping a relatively
small number of dogs, usually between 4-5 adults, and
various puppies we are going up, we breed just one or
two litters a year.
Our primary reason for
breeding a litter is motivated by our desire to better
the lines of the Boxer breed, for the best quality dogs
for show and also for loving pets for deserving
families.
We enjoy showing our
dogs at various All Breed and Specialty shows across the
country, and have had the good fortune to have bred and
shown some noteworthy winners. With that said, our dogs
remain first, and always, our friends.
